It is so much fun to see your kid dance at all the school functions and weddings. They are confident and have a natural flair for it. Even though you know they have it in them, parents often struggle with the decision to cultivate your child’s interest. However, before you take a plunge, you must ensure that it is not a one-off thing that they enjoy at home.
How can you do that? By trying out these simple tips!
Nurture their interest at home first
Your kid loves to copy the dance moves as they see on the TV. Encourage them to show you some new moves that they learned or praise them when you see that they are trying. Your constant support and encouragement will make them want to take this interest more seriously. Just be a watchful parent and observe the form of dance that attracts them the most. At the same time, you can also expose them to a new form and see if they enjoy that too.
Sign them up for a class
You can look for a reliable Dance School in Kolkata and sign them up for a class. Just be sure to discuss this with your child before finalizing it for them. Ask them questions about their interest and whether they would like to attend classes. If they say yes, you can ask them about the dance type they would like to learn and then enrol them for those classes. Remember to add this activity to your child’s schedule only if they have room for it. Apart from time for homework, they should also have plenty of time to rest. You need to ensure that the class isn’t a burden on your child. True learning will only happen when they are fully on board with it.
Encourage them to eat healthily
Provide balanced nutrition to your child so that they can feel energetic and enjoy a physically intensive exercise. If they join the classes, then gradually introduce foods in their diet that will give them more energy throughout the day. Urge them to eat more fruits and vegetables that will not only keep your child’s body healthy but also their mind.
Make learning fun
This is the most important thing if you want your child to cultivate any new interests. Anything that feels like a compulsion or a chore would be automatically rejected by your child. So as you enrol them for dance classes, make sure you have taken all these points into account. Let them choose the dance form and encourage them to have fun with it.
No matter what dance type they choose, remind your child that this is ultimately an art form and there will be challenges along the way. Speak with their instructors beforehand and ensure that they will be the right motivators to help your child come up the learning curve and nudge them in the right direction.
